Who all here with metastatic disease are taking Sulforaphane and what dose.
Do you think it helped ?
There is mixed advise whether to take it or avoid it when one has metastatic disease so it is confusing.
“ NRF2 Activation**: Sulforaphane activates the NRF2 pathway, which can have dual roles in cancer. While NRF2 activation can enhance cellular defense mechanisms and provide anticancer effects, it may also promote cancer cell survival in certain contexts. This duality necessitates careful consideration and monitoring when using sulforaphane, especially in the presence of metastatic cancer”

I eat cruciferous vegetables along with Broc and radish sprouts ( sulforaphane ). I was taking it in several supplement forms including DIM. Maybe I am better off eating junk food. Thanks for the info.
I take Prostaphane (BROQ) capsules, either one or 2 daily. So far, along with everything else, including standard of care Lupron injections and Enzalutamide, it may have helped. I just do not what works. I've been taking them for approximately 3 years. There are no long term trials to prove or disprove it's effect.
Yes good numbers but I have another blood test on Thursday so no idea on if the numbers will remain so but so far so good, just over 4 years since diagnosis.
I've been doing BroccoMax for a few years by now. I have no idea whether it's helpful or not, but I don't think it's harmful for me -- here's what I've found about NRF2:
Nrf2 has a dual role in cancer development and therapy. Based on a body of studies, it seems that transient activation of Nrf2 in normal cells (where the Nrf2-Keap1 axis is intact) is protective; however, constitutive activation of Nrf2 (mutation of Keap1) promotes the survival and progression of malignant cells.
Since I have no KEAP1 mutations, I don't worry about the NRF2 issue.
Yeah, that's the best I can tell you. Read that article for all the details about the NRF2-Keap1 relationship. My PSA numbers have been good - but I'm not ready to give the SFN credit for that. I'm taking relugolix + I have the SPOP mutation, which gives me excellent responder status with anti-androgens.
