Psa dropping on arbitrone

started out with the new meds arbitrone on December 1st, psa was 12.6, by the end of December it dropped to 8.5 and latest on January 19th it is 2.2. Will I get to undetectable by the next month ? The latest scan showed a slight uptake in an old lesion on the T5 spinal chord, feel better than ever and getting monthly shots of xgeva for bone strength that is not giving any side effects, I am taking the full dose of arbitrone on an empty tummy 1 hour before eating and no side effects as of yet, on full dose, taking the 10 mg of prednisone with breakfast also.

For metastatic hormone sensitive PCa you should be taking 5mg prednisone/day. You can find this on the Jansen Zytiga site. Initially my MO made the same mistake. I pointed out that 5mg was the proper dose and he acknowledged I was correct.

------------------------------- DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION --------------------------

Metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer:

• ZYTIGA 1,000 mg orally once daily with prednisone 5 mg orally twice daily. (2.1) Metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer:

• ZYTIGA 1,000 mg orally once daily with prednisone 5 mg orally once daily. (2.2)

Some information you may be interested in. I was on a trial with abiratorone + pregnisone. I was told to take it on an empty stomach. After a year and a half, my PSA started to rise. I was then told to take my dose of abiratorone + pregnisone with food. My PSA began to fall again.

How far did it drop out of curiosity, I follow you due to good information.

After switching to taking abiratorone WITH food my PSA dropped down to 1.5 and stayed there for another year and a half.

I take 1,000 mg of Zytiga on an empty stomach daily and 10 mg of prednisone every morning. My PSA has been <0.003 since August 2020. I have an appointment with my MO today because my face has been getting puffy and rounded. Maybe time for a Zytiga/Prednisone vacation.

Glad it is working so well, very encouraging, the prednisone does make the appetite go up.

Hi, I take 250 mg Abiraterone with a low fat meal, with 5mg Prednisone. I have been on this regime since November 2019, my PSA went from 11 steadily down, last week it was 0.25. it is working, at 1/4 the cost!!

The dose variations I have read about are interesting. No from a cost point of view but from efficacy.

Thanks, very encouraging, I think he will alter the dosage once it shows that it is working, so far so good, I can handle the cost as still working part time.

Since December 2019 I have 1000mg Abiraterone on and empty stomach then after a minimum of an hour I have 10mg Prednisolone with food. PSA went up to ~7 last July due to met in hip but now 0.83 after SBRT.

I've been 0.1 PSA since first month of taking it. I also take 750mg. Three tablets and two 5mg. Prednisone one with Breakfast one with dinner . I will have been on this dosage three years as of February 27th. I had to switch from the four tablets because my Calcium was too low. I also take Xgeva injection once a month for bone mets and Eligard injection every six months. You feel great and it does work but the side effects will creep up on you fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes, weight gain just to name a few. I'm not saying you will experience these but its just part of the medication. My advice to you is to keep as active as you can and always stay positive cancer hates that.Never give up Never surrender. Leo

I have the hot flashes, the sweats at times but not the fatigue, I take the prednisone with my breakfast because it is easier to remember, the prednisone I took in the afternoon but it affected my sleeping so morning works good . I think he will adjust the dosage once he sees how well it works, the cosadex was a flop, this is working well with minimum side effects. Your experience is very encouraging and I hope it keeps working for both of us.

My Doctor said he has had patients on it for 8 years so far so good. There are numerous things in the works for us and some very encouraging. Stay safe and Positive. Leo

Yes, lupron for two and half years and still on it, tried casodex but did not work, no side effects from full dose of the current meds, very encouraged with this.

That is good news.I started Abiratone on November 11 and my PSA shot up from 4 to 13 in 2 months. This last psa showed slight down turn to 12. Check every 2 weeks for now.

Very hopeful it will work because I feel GREAT.

Keep ducking and swinging.
