I have been on arbitrone now for 3 months and psa went from 12.5 to 1, should it drop more or am I just impatient. Am a suffering from psa anxiety, also on lupron/eligard 3 month injections and bone strengthing shot every month for a year then every 3 months. I am happy that it is going down but would be nice if it was less than 1.

Drop in psa
My Husband started Zytiga (Abi) in mid Dec, by Feb PSA went to 15 from 30, one month later 12.9 so I am wanting it to go down faster. But at least its going in the right direction.
Looks like we started about the same time, I guess it must be a slow decline after an initial large drop, 12.5, 8.4, 3.1, 1.3 and now 1, getting to undetectable is a goal for both of us.
My Husband started out with a PSA of 320 nearly 3 yrs ago. After chemo went down to 1.5, put on Caxodex that did absolutely nothing, steady climbing every month up to 30! So here is where we are at now. Yes I would love his PSA to go below 1 and stay there forever !
It took me from August to March to get to 0..about 7 months. I was on Lupron and Zytiga. Actually I have read on this board by the smart guys that a slow steady fall to 0 is better than a drastic fall. Maybe one of the will enlighten us again.
Hello Muffin2019,
I had a PSA of 152, nothing touched it until I was offered Zytiga, prednisone and of course the jab ( which I now have quartily ). Over the last three years I have had a nice steady fall of PSA and tumour shrinkage, the PSA is now 0.03.
Yep I still feel lousy after the jab, but who cares about that, my ambition is to reach 0.
Being a patient, patient isn't easy sometimes, but already you are doing well.
Good luck,
Phil
Your doing great. It may drop more or stay around 1 for years.
My PSA went from 183 to undetectable in one full year. I had radiation treatment and Lupron' for 12 months before I got to my nadir.
Reasonable time and a steady trend downwards is what you are looking at / hoping for ...
Anxiety is inevitable. Rest in the fact you are doing the best treatment possible for now. Only if it rises (significantly and progressively) will its course have been run.
The saying goes " You give a woman an inch then suddenly.........................................."
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Hi Muffin2019,
Glad to see you're having great results with Zytiga and predisone. I have been on Zytiga and predisone since June 2020, it did nothing for me as far as PSA is concerned. In February this year, I even switched from Lucrin to Firmagon jabs which by the way are monthly shots and more painful than the Lucrin jabs and also switched to taking dexamethasone still no drop in PSA as of last count in April 2021. In fact, horrors...my PSA spiked to 45 in April from hovering between 27-30 from last year till today. Now, I will be rechallenging Docetaxel again in May 2021 after the fasting month and the Eid celebrations, so that I may spend quality time with family and grandchildren before the painful cycles of chemo starts.
So I guess, we are all different and I wish the very best for all on this forum and keep doing what works well for you. I started off at diagnosis of 192 PSA, Gleason 7, did 6 cycles of Docetaxel, 3 monthly shots of Lucrin and PSA's best result after chemo was 1.75 and it started to climb as expected till today at 45.
My best to all
Haniff
