Started arbitrone December 1st, , latest showed a drop to 8.3 from 12.5, a 35 percent drop over 3 weeks with no side effects and no liver problems. How fast does it drop to the lowest amount and how long to get the maximum drop, not complaining and glad it is dropping would like it below 1 eventually, what are other peoples results and how fast over what time frame did it happen.

Everyone is different. At 3 to 5 months you should reach a bottom of some sort. Depending on what other ADT drugs you have been on your PSA may slow the desent.

I am not sure but I would think with the testosterone cut back they would die, maybe the others with experience can answer this issue.

Not on arbitrone (maybe abiraterone) , but on xtandi got 25% drop per month till I was at 0.13 and then real slow till reached 0.00 first time after 2 yrs. Lots of little ups and downs on the way. Now stable? with last two going down 0.12 to 0.11 to 0.10 and the three before that ) 0.00 ,to 0.08 to 0.12. Kind of a sine wave. Just riding the crest and hoping to continue with no problems. Once you get to your nadir don't sweat the small stuff (minor fluxuations). Best of luck to you in this new year that many of us were never supposed to see. (according to our doctors)

I started Zytiga(abiraterone)in August with psa at 12, it rose to 20 over the next 2 months. In November I changed from prednisone to Dexamethasone. My lab in early December showed a 9.8 psa...we are hoping the Zytiga is starting to work.

Hopefully, I have read about a surge when starting new meds, hopefully the scans are good.

Thanks for the encouragement. yes, I am hoping for continued drop in PSA. I've noticed a new continuing problem with the combo, Zytiga and dexamethasone. I am experiencing a lot of hand cramping. Does anyone else have this problem and some suggestions to help eliminate?

PSA = 111 to 0.1 in 4.5 months with Zytiga + Lupron. But this was my initial treatment, so probably different circumstance.

Probably 2-4 months, based on my experience. Figure in about 12 months it will start climbing as Zytiga is typically good for about 12 months. Once it starts to climb again your oncologist will come up with a new treatment plan.

Like gearhead I am on my initial treatment as well and with Lupron+Zytiga PSA dropped from 110 to .05 in 3 months. But then my PSA dropped from 156 -90 in 3 months with no treatment just diet changes so that's probably not too surprising in retrospect. Best wishes on your journey.

What diet changes did you do ?

The usual stuff, cut out meat, increase intake of plant based food and expanded variety. I was drinking a lot of beer and stopped that. Changed life attitude and mindfulness, and learned to be in the moment. Also yoga, breathing exercises, accupuncture, guided imagery. Stayed very active cycling, lost over 40 pounds.
