Just feeling very grateful this Christmas time that after 12 years I have an undetectable PSA.
Surgery 2008, radiation 2012, Lupron for 5 years, Daralutamide for 4-5 months and a few snake-oil supplements. Do a good deal of exercise and feel very well.

I love to read these success stories! They give me a positive outlook. My cancer has already defeated Xtandi...I’ll probably start Jevtana in January. But I’m hopeful for a long happy life!
Sure. When I had my first urologist appointment in 2008 he told me I needed to get my affairs in order!
Also, there's so much new stuff coming out all the time. My MO says we may do some genetic testing, but not needed now and in a year or two there will be new and improved ways of doing it
All I can say is prayers are as powerful as medicine...but unfortunately neither are going to cure me (at least not so far). I’m told that Jevtana is the last line of defense...then we get to the targeted stuff that’s more palliative instead of driving it into remission. I’ve only been fighting this for three years now...56 years old...I pray I make it to 90...by some miracle, I will!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience. It gives those of us who heard "I got your results and they are really bad" from our Urologist when our GL 9 results came back..... some hope. I would embrace 12 years...bring me to 78....much longer than I picture things at present. (BTW - That idiot URO was the same one who had refused me a biopsy 18 months earlier!)

Bayer provides it free of charge for 2 months. After that, with insurance and the patient advocate foundations that exist my co-pay is zero

Glad to hear of your success, and as a fellow long-term survivor (discovered in 2005, brachy in 2006, discovered rising PSA again in 2004, started hormone treatment off and on 5 years ago this month after discovering a tumor in a lymph gland, now completely tumor free, according to the most recent scan late last summer), but I'm impressed by the fact that you exercise. I, too, always have, vigorous exercise such as jogging and weight-lifting, and believe that and my somewhat restrictive diet are part of the "treatment" that has kept me mostly healthy and the cancer under control.
