Blood while urinating
Yes, I still have it 10 years post radiation. Scar tissue sloughs off from time to time. Not a big deal.
That’s what I thought thank you for reassuring me
That sucks Tom . Hope you find a fix .
I just got diagnosed with radiation proctitis 8 months after finishing treatment. I thought it was the eligard but evidently not. Not the same as your condition but stomach rectum related. Hope you feel better soon.
No Sir ! Please see a urologist ASAP . Idid imrt about five years ago and I have had no bleeding . We all accept things differently .
I had it happen this year, 8 years after radiation. Lasted only a couple of days and none of my doctors were concerned, nor thought it had much to do with treatment. Good luck.
The urologist will tell you come for Cystoscopy procedure which is very painful and may cause damage to the already scared Urethra and to the site of surgical anastomosis if you had prostatectomy.
10 yrs later after kaiser did unecessary radiation of prostate bed area, I have bleeding in lower bladder. Doing hyperberic oxygen and it is helping. Did 17 so far, and may have to do 60 total. Bleeding gets worse with chemo, and Im doing chemo and hyperberic oxygen treatments to help control bleeding.
I had salvage radiation 5 years ago. I've had periodic hematuria over the past year. Thus June 2020 had a cystoscopy, revealing cystitis caused by the radiation. No treatment is necessary unless bleeding becomes greater. Sending you best wishes in health and this journey we're on.
Salvage radiation seven years ago, then experienced bleeding this spring. Initially scared the hell out of me, but after speaking to my urologist found that it was not a issue unless constant.

Me too. I was Dx with PCa June 2005, opted for 42 sessions of IMRT zaps. But it gets trickier. Dx'd with a neurogenic bladder during pre IMRT CT scan mapping and planning of my prostate cancer tumors to be radiated. I had to start Self-Cath July 2005 and still do 5-6+ times per/day. FFW to 2015, 2016 difficulty self-cath'ing began, then bleeding then more bleeding. I had several cystoscopies and then two different 'DVIU' procedures to surgical ream my urethral out. Not fun, no fun, blood and temporary relief.
Yes, I was and my Urologist was battling with me a stubborn urethral stricture. Finally had a urethralplasty repair surgery 03/17/2017. I have not had any trouble self-cathing since St Patricks day 2017. Yes oh what a relief it was and still is.
I learned a great bit of input from my super Urologist(s) urethroplasty surgeon that Radiation Oncologist do not tell you that rad machines can damage your urinary system or colo-rectal system functions.
I will not explain in detail the blood from my urinary tract compounded by self-cathing(mandatory) that occured 2015-16-17. Then ceased the day i had urethra stricture removed and skin graft repaired.

I know it's hard but try not to worry about it. Definitely a long term effect of radiation, but lasts a day or two and then stops. I get it quite frequently as I have to self-catheterize every 14 days. Have had bladder checked by scoping and there is normal post-radiation change present.
Yes Sir! I had severe bleeding and blood clots 4 years after completing Guided Radiation Treatment to my Prostate.
You should be fine, unless, the blood clots do not allow you to pee.
I was in, the emergency room, 3 times due to blood clots.
It was a horrible and painful experience.
My Urologist catherized the bleeding vessels, in my bladder.
I still had clots but not as severe.
He finally sent me for Hyperberic Chamber Treatment for 40 sessions.
That really made a difference and I have not had any serious clots since. Once, in a while ,I pass a small clot but nothing more. Just keep my fingers crossed.
Good Luck to You!
