My opinion is... what is the RO's opinion of this? And has your naturopath shown you any evidence of benefit of the proposed treatments?

What is "..."? Whatever it is, clear it with your RO. How are you doing "oncothermia"? It is probably all unnecessary, but I know how it may be helping you feel more in control, and that is important.

The best thing you can do is exercise heavily. CV exercise increases cell oxygenation, which helps the radiation kill cancer cells more effectively, and helps healthy cells repair.

I took low-dose Cialis starting with the first radiation and continuing for 6 months afterwards. It may protect the vasculature that feeds penile tissue.

Did your RO recommend Cialis?

My RO doesn't make recommendations - he practices shared decision making more than any other doctor I've met. We discussed the evidence. He pointed out that the evidence is less than definitive, but prescribed it anyway. I got it from a cheap source in India (Alldaychemist.com)

Yes I've seen that company mentioned on some of the alternative medicine sites.

There have been no clinical trials of artemisinin in prostate cancer.

I don't see any compelling reason to stop AS. What is your Decipher score?

thanks Tall_Allen ... especially for the tip about the importance of CV exercise

I would stick with proven treatments that have been tested in clinical trials like ADT and EBRT.

Don't know about the others, but I would want to see some evidence to support using them.

My RO prescribed me Calcium 500 mg + Vitamin D 1,000 IU. He also told me to keep taking my Omega-3/1.2 g and my Senior Centrum. Nothing else. The ADT takes care of shrinking the prostate. I had VMAT-RT Hypofractionnated 3 Gy X 20 Fx over the whole pelvic area.

Most people on this board do not support holistic naturopathic care and are not well versed on them. Honestly, I wouldn't rely on this board for support, opinions, or advice in regards to these .

I said "most" and I hardly thinking I'm getting the wrong impression. Even the progression of this post confirms my perceptions. Prove me wrong.

Okayyy. It's quite interesting that you are so insistent on this board promoting holistic methods when clearly it generally doesn't. There's no shame in that. Posts on natural methods are met invariably with folks steering them away from non-conventional methods , and 9 times out of 10 not one person actually answers the OP questions. In this case, the OP asked for experiences and opinions on Oncothermia, high-dose IV Vitamin C, IV Artemisinin, and IV DMSO. Not one person (yet) was able to help with his specific question. This board is a wealth of information and highly valuable , but if someone is seeking assistance with non-conventional means, this is not the best board for them.

Had to smile as I read some of the posts above and wondered what the reaction would be if I went to an alternative cancer site/forum and started recommending using more traditional methods to fight cancer. Enjoy your day!

I am off to review and discuss current research projects with some really bright minds at our local university at their annual “poster” presentation day.
