Would love to hear from those who’ve experienced issues with bone marrow infiltration, and perhaps failure of the bone marrow. After several months of low blood counts including HGB and platelets, MO ordered a bone marrow biopsy for my husband which shows infiltration of the PCa. We’ve been treating with blood and platelet transfusions which is helping to maintain these low counts but not improve them. Would love to hear from those who’ve had similar experiences, what treatments have you tried? Anything new on the horizon? I read that OS might be as much as 5 years, yet my husband is not remotely that optimistic. He’s 53yo. Just looking for ideas, encouragement that it might not be as bad as we think, etc. thank you.

When Joe was diagnosed 70% of his bone marrow was replaced by cancer and he was in DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation). Awful. Taxotere knocked it out though and it has not been an issue again until very recently.
