Anybody has experience with blood in urine after radiation treatment. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in July 2018 (Greason 4+3, psa 7.8). I had SBRT treatment at UCLA in October 2018. In June 2020 I had blood in the urine 3 times in 2 weeks. I took 15 day antibiotic on 7/6/20 and the blood has gone away for almost 2 months now. What should I do next?

Others here, in similar cases, had cystoscopy (a camera through your urinary track up inside the bladder) so as to find out whether blood was coming off from scar tissue or from metastasized cancerous cells. During the same examination they may take samples from suspect areas to be later submitted to biopsy.
Prominent blood vessels in the bladder lining are common after radiation. Was recently routinely scoped at Duke for bleeding; doctor showed me the bv's and said they would bleed from time to time. They do!
I wonder why. I thought the radiation wasn't supposed to hit the bladder during treatments?

It’s not uncommon after radiation. I had radiation to the pelvic region 18 months ago and still get blood in urine every once in a while. Radiation creates scar tissue. The blood in urine happens when the scar tissue breaks off and passes. The breaking off causes temporary bleeding. My doctors say not to worry unless urinating becomes blocked.

Very common, even to the extent of passing blood clots. Recognize that radiation also produces a traumatic event on capillaries. I simply passed them with Sitz Baths as I urinated way.....
