I had surgery 4 years ago -- currently PSA is 1.03 but my PAP is 1.8 -- what does PAP value 1.8 indicate -- good?, bad?, bone mets ?

PAP was used before PSA as a marker of PCa, and is an indicator of possible metastasis as I recall. It is a slower marker to respond to tumor growth than PSA, and is one reason why it was supplanted by PSA and imaging. The ULN is 2.0. I tested for PAP when first diagnosed, and with a PSA of 29, it still was in the normal range.

Thanks,

It would seem that tracking PAP rise would be helpful for those who are on ADT and have no PSA
