My diagnosis was prostate cancer Gleason 9.6

Had prostecamy and 28 lympnodes removed in pelvic area on Nov 2016 .. no signs of cancer till now . Had radiation 6 wks in 2018 june

Hello group it's been awhile since iv been on the site . But I hit a problem my prostate cancer has spread to my L3 vertebrate about 1.3 cm now and my doc has suggested DOCETAXEL 80 MG or a clinical trial called ENZALUTAMIDE W/ or/wo RADIUM 223 DICHLORIDE. I'd like to know if anyone has had these meds and what the outcome has been good or bad .. thank you for your time .

Both good choices. I believe the enzalutamide trial also includes a bone-preserving agent which seems to be necessary when combining it with Xofigo.

Have you considered SBRT radiation to your one lesion ? If it’s relatively safe to get to, why not? I would never recommend doing that in lieu of systematic treatment but rather in addition to. Some early studies are indicating it might help.

You seem to have oligometastatic disease, which means that treating the lesion is an option - without the morbidity osf systemic treatments (which are not cures anyway.)

I had L5 zapped 5 years ago. I don't regret it at all. But I'm not your doctor & you should discuss this with one who is up on oligometastatic treatment.

I do not have any bone mets (that we know of), just lymph nodes, but Xtandi (Enzalutamide) has worked amazingly well for me. PSA has been undetecable for about a year.

Thanks everyone for your input I'll be discussing my options today with my doc but I'm leaning to chemo ( docetaxel ) because it's most likely to work in my case instead of a clinical trial where I'll be to a split group study and not definitely which group I'll be in ...
