Saw my Mom, she's 90 and a lil more feeble. Took her out to lunch a few times. Met HS classmates and had beers and reminisced. Ate local foods that I miss. Did Honolulu marathon, boy it got warm out there. The Pic is above Hanauma Bay.

MO will start Zytiga or Xtandi. I've read the latest posts here.

What a beautiful background Randy. I'm freezing my butt off here in South Jersey. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We all can tell that you're in a studio with a picture backdrop... that looks real....

I'm not a goody two shoes.... but Mama is not getting a little more "feeble" she's just getting more loveable. Keep running.....

Aloha (whatever that means)....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Hi

Can you advise your prognosis.

I ran the NYC marathon after being diagnosed 5 month earlier with Stage 4 PC.

Apart from the regular Portaloo stops once I hit 1st Ave I still managed to finish.

A lot slower than previous efforts.

My Oncologist recommended I go onto Zoladex and Zytiga.

My blood counts declined and felt fatigue setting in.

Not good for a 40 event marathoner.

So I stopped after a couple of weeks.

Since July I have been using a PEMF Device purchased fro E PUlse Magnetics In LA.

Seems to have stopped the progression and evidenc this week of subtle healing sclerosis.

Check out the Bill Doyle TED address on YouTube.

Good luck.

Dave

Hey, I made 5 years after I had a PSA @555.2 on 10/13/14. Old stats said a 28% chance of getting there. I had Mets to L ureter lymph nodes. PSA @ 840 and had a nadir of 0.1 in the summer of 2017. PSA up to 9.1 despite ADT for 10 months(took an 18 month hormone holiday).

Just did my 4th NYC marathon with Team ZERO last month and plan to do it again next year. With T at 13, my times are 3 hrs slower. I run with #stageIVpca for those who can't

Hi Randy

Thanks for reply.

I have now chalked up 6 in NYC with 2nd placings in my Age Group.

One day my aim is to finally gain a first as I have done in Chicago.

Yes we battle on daily and now trying to maintain average of 5km a day.

Its a long way from the 20-30 km weekend runs of not so long ago.

Now 74 turning 75 next month.

I hope time is still on my side.

Cheers

Dave

Woohoo! Another marathon for you!

I'm on generic zytiga and it doesn't seem to have affected my running, though I'm curious what will happen when I start trying to do 20 mile runs in the spring. In addition to testosterone, it blocks cortisol production (thus the prednisone) which is what helps maintain blood sugar on long runs. On the other hand, cortisol burns lean mass to make that blood sugar, so limiting that might be a benefit.

I'm surprised that in that link there seemed to be less complications for xtandi, given the number of posts about side effects here.

Keep on rockin'!

You ate local foods that you missed? I hope that didn’t include Spam. 😃

Mile 23, they were cooking bacon and Spam along the course. Had a slice, it tasted so good as it was 81 degrees (needed salt then) and I washed it down with a small cup of beer. Wish I could post a Pic reply.
