I spent 4 days here: eating anything, having beers, enjoying family(esp my 89 yr old Mom). Did the Hibiscus 1/2 marathon - ran with a lady with her 7yr old - she met me last year and told her about the PCa. Lazily drove around the island to see the sights.

Good for you, Randy! That's a great view from atop Diamond Head, isn't it?
(Just behind you past your right shoulder, my sweetie and I spent some time quite a few years ago in The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel. It has a different vibe than the bigger resort/chain hotels. I still remember those relaxing morning outdoor breakfasts and evening dinners under the deep shade of the low hanging trees, right there on the beach.)
That's gonna be my new theme song - I spoke to many on my trip about the PCa abd getting Dad's screened etc. I had long talk with a Hawaiian Air steward and we shared contact info. I met medical office in HI and asked them to host a ZERO 5k event and hopefully one will wanna do it. I gotta get mt "bruddahs" to get checked
Mahalo. Haha, I've been sorta low carb lean protein, whole grains, fruits/veggies for yrs. Prolly my Chinese ancestry - Asians tend to not look their age
Well, if you slow down that first 10 and you could save stamina for the last 5k push to the finish. Ever since the cancer in 2015, I haven't broken 10 min miles. I was last at the OC marathon in 2015 - three days post chemo:
I was just in Oβahu also! Came back last night. I wish I had known youβd be there. We could have met for pupus. My wife ran part of the 1/2 marathon (too late to sign up but ran a little part of the course). Enjoying life to the fullest! Did a hike a day. Koko Head, and rim! Pali puka, and more. Even performed at the Waikiki Boardwalk (I belong to a human halau in Sacramento). Take that Stage IV!! πͺπ½π€π½
Great for you dockam. A friend of mine in Hawaii has extended me an open invitation. I must make use of it. I live with my 95 year old mother (she has no other support). She is a TRUE cancer survivor. Had hystrectomy in 1979. It came back 1981. Had what I would call primitive radiation treatment (just tie a tube of radio active Cobalt overnight), three nights in 1981. Since then free of cancer!!
We should have hope. Medicine today is far more advanced and refined. I envisage a day not far off, when PC may mean just an evening visit to the doctor' surgery, and a handful of capsules, or maybe a vaccination!!!. Though I am not sure I will be around to benefit from that miracle.
