I was diagnosed Adv PCA with Mets to lymph notes on October 9, 2017. With a PSA of 192 G of 4+3 completed 6 cycles of Chemo started in January 2018 and have been and still on Lucrin jabs every 3 monthly intervals. Lowest PSA was 1.7 and now at 3.2 🥴
Long story short, just want to share my daily regimen ( please see pic), besides juicing every morning before going to work from Monday to Friday: kale, herbs, berries and the occasional pineapple and banana.
Food wise I eat in moderation plus cheat days of burgers and pizzas when grandchildren come around and when the good missus is not looking 😄
Don’t know if my regimen helps or doesn’t, just thought of sharing and getting feedback and opinions from one and all.
Yes, exercise quite regularly but not like an Olympian and still happily working as a primary school teacher. Got my retirement in principle approval, so will be retiring end of this year 😍 after 36 wonderful years. Missus going to retire next year, also a teacher 👩🏫
Please share your feedback on my daily meds. Really like to hear from everyone.
My love to one and all. Take very good care.

From what I can see (I can't read the pill strips), you have two pills that might make prostate cancer worse: calcium and omega 3s. Oral vitamin C is an antioxidant that might interfere with your body's natural defenses against cancer. The rest are probably harmless.
Hello to TA. I read your posts frequently. This post has me concerned because, after 2 yrs of Zytiga/Prednisone/Lupron, all of my lab tests show very good results (PSA and T undectable).
But a recent bone scan showed some loss of bone strength, and I was advised to start taking Calcium with vit D3. So, for about a month now, I have been taking 600mg Calcium and 800 IU vit D3, and this is done twice a day.
The three articles above now have me wondering if I should cut back on this Calcium/D3 program. Or should I stop taking C/D3 altogether?
I will study the three articles above again, but any prelimary suggestions will be much appreciated.
It's pretty easy to figure out if you need a supplement - just take a blood test for calcium and vitamin D. The reason to supplement is not because your bone density is low (if it is a little low, weight bearing exercise may be all you need. If it is a lot low, consider a bone strengthening agent like Zometa or Xgeva.) In fact, there is no evidence that supplementing calcium and Vitamin D does anything to improve bone strength, unless your levels are very low. In fact, it was recently shown that high levels of Vitamin D decrease bone mineral density. Read the section titled "No Effect or Negative Effect on Bone Mineral Density":
Extremely low levels of Vit D for 8 years gave me osteoporosis with fractures at the age of 40, log before I had any cancer diagnosis or took any ADT drugs. Got osteoporosis in spite of my trips to the Gym twice per week to lift weights and weekend recreational sports outdoors in the sun, boating, in summer, snow skiing winter. Low D was the only deficiency found and that was the cause per my doctor, an endocrinologist.
Your situation wrt Vitamin D reminds us that intake of Vitamin D (or through sunshine) does not necessarily translate in a dose responsive manner to serum Vitamin D. Our bodies have numerous control mechanisms for the amount of Vitamin D (or other steroids) it allows us to keep and utilize. In the Jiang et al study, they identified 6 genetic mutations associated with low serum levels. Perhaps you have one of those mutations. Serum Vitamin D deficiency causes weak bones and rickets, but raising serum levels to normal can be challenging in some people with genetic abnormalities. On the other end of the spectrum, there is no known advantage to a Vitamin D serum surplus. It's always a good idea to check serum levels before and during supplementation.
I believe my Vit D dropped as a side effect from Gaviscon Extra Strength tablets--took 10 to 15 tablets daily to control acid re-flux from a high stress job and poor diet for years and years. Also took Zantag at night. I dont think I have a gene defect for D, but I never tested for that defect. After switching to green juice to replace Gaviscon and taking Vit D supplement per my doctor, my D level responded immediately back to normal. Today D still normal but I still supplement D a little. According to Dr Charles E Myers, your ability of your skin to absorb Vit D thru sun exposure decreases with age and most people have to supplement as they get older.
In addition to the osteoporosis, I believe my very low D levels contributed to getting sick with bronchitis and borderline pneumonia every 3 to 4 months. I was coughing all the time. It was horrible. I did not know what was going on. The frequent bouts with bronchitis also went away after getting on Green juice for acid control, and getting my Vit D levels up. I hope people read this and learn from my health mistakes.
Agree that probably more than 1 thing alone caused Osteoporosis, even though labs only found very low D. Those issues are resolved now. Have normal Vit D. Osteoporosis improved to Osteopenia while on ADT which is a big improvement, and no more fractures.
Still a mystery why I got high grade Gleason 8 prostate cancer at the young age of 48. "Your genetic testing did not find any harmful hereditary mutations in the genes that were evaluated. Thus, we do not have an explanation for your personal and family history of cancer."
I don't know what Xapamet is - what is the generic name of the drug? I imagine Suncal D is a calcium and Vitamin D supplement - see response to Romans8_28.
The calcium/PCa matter is new for me. I will discuss with my doctor (who has me using Prosteon every day) at tomorrow’s appointment. Thank you for posting these links.
I've already learned after over two years, I can eat anything I want. Adding supplements, juicer drinks and whatever else is not going help or get rid of the cancer I already have. After past treatments including chemo, I am now on a clinical trial. That's what's keeping me alive.
Yup you’re right Bro but I am clinging on to hope big time that’s why the supplements. I am just trying and hoping to build up my confidence in this journey of mine.
I recommend good old fashioned way of keeping calcium and Vit D levels good. It is One cup of Fat free Yogurt daily and 30 minutes of being in sun ….that's all is needed. This is also approved by my MO.
For a man like me who has never even one time tasted any type of meat...it is not a problem eating all plant based foods
Taste is an acquired memory . When I see a nicely plastic wrapped chicken thighs in a grocery store.. what I see is dead animals muscles. The fluid around that piece which has pinkish color ..I think is blood mixed with urine and pus of the animal. Honestly, it is a disgusting feeling..( I apologize to meat eaters ..I am just being honest in saying it)
When I see fresh fruits and nicely cooked veggies and yogurt , I feels hungry ..it is food in my mind.
My point is taste is 100% acquired phenomenon. I understand well the people who has been raised on meat since childhood...I don't blame them if they feel that meat is tasty.
(Disclosure: This post is not intended to hurt the feelings of meat eating friends)
At this point anything that might work is worth a try 😀😀. I eat a lot of chicken and pork. Not much beef. But I love my pie and ice cream. I do have a cup of dandelion tea every day with raw honey . Keep up the battle with the monster 🙏🙏🙏. Amen
The Omega 3's ( 6 + 9) are not a good thing to consume. My naturopath told me to avoid Ester 'C' specifically and I wonder about the Calcium (and branding) - worried about bones ?
Is it the right kind of Magnesium ?
One thing I've learned is that there's a lot of 'inferior formulations' that are a waste of time and $$$$. Big Box brands usually amount to stuff that should be avoided (where did you get it refers). Typically, you get what you pay for. Cheap = wasted.
It is about bio-availability and the direct relationship the supplement has vs. what you are attempting to address.
My daily regimen is quite different, although there are some targeted therapies that we share.
I had to substitute the bad with the good. The result - most wen't bye-bye and were replaced with quality and specific sub-types or extractions of herbs and/or minerals.
Do some more research - look at magnesium as an example - Google and Wikipedia will help.
