Successful Recurrent Treatment - So Far

Thought I would share an update to forum members as I had previously posted on this forum seeking feedback to my 2nd treatment strategy after recurrent PSA after prostatectomy. Seems to be in remission - so far at this early stage? Positive stories are also something to share.

I live in Thailand, now 69 and was diagnosed with PCa in late 2015 with surgery in April 2016. PSA was 9.6 with stage T2c; After surgery PSA went to 0.03 and then progressively has increased to 0.91. - PSADT 4.6 months

A 18F PSMA1 007 PET/CT scan confirmed one (1) metestatic lymph node. Whole pelvic radiation and 6 months on hormone therapy (Lupron) followed in late 2018/early 2019 and has seen PSA very low and stable.

- Current PSA as of last week - 0.045 (down from 0.072 - 3 months earlier) & 6 months after my treatment for recurrence.

So far so good and an excellent response to overall tri-fector of treatments -surgery, radiation and ADT. I am very pleased and looking forward to a long and lasting remission. It has been a challenging journey but one that seems to be working - so far. Staying positive and hopeful for the future.

Stats:

•Pathological Gleason score – 4+3 (7)+T5 = act like G8

•Stage: p2Tc – PNI - (clear margins, SV, lymph nodes)

•Time to recurrence – 0.10 @ 9 mths; 0.2 @14 mths

- whole pelvis radiation and target of metestatic lymph node - 33 treatments + Lupron ADT for 6 months - finished Feb 2019

Best regards to all and thanks for the support this forum has offered in assisting me in this journey.

Last check 3 months after finishing Lupron it was back up to 303 ng/dl - in the normal range. Probably higher now, but didn't check last PSA test.

That all sounds great - I was wondering if you might still be seeing some residual ADT impact, but it seems your testosterone recovery was very quick - so cool to have that alongside the continued PSA decline.... I do hope this continues, and wish you all the very best!!
