ZYTIGA (abiraterone acetate) vs Mylan's generic abiraterone vs Yonsa
Some people have said that Mylan's generic version of abiraterone acetate is gentler on the body than the original ZYTIGA brand abiraterone. Including reducing the need for prednisone from 10mg to 5mg, which seems pretty significant to me.
Yonsa is related to, but different from, abiraterone acetate. When used as a substitute it is likely to be better or worse than Zytiga.
What experiences are people having with these three?

Yonsa and Zytiga have different dosing and food effects.
My experience with Milan’s generic Zytiga was that I had less hot flashes. Hot flashes were the only side effect I noticed. My blood levels were in line with both except potassium needed boosting with both. I have been on 5 mg of predizone for both. I have also been on blood pressure lowering meds for both.
The fact that I had a different result with Mylan made me decide to return to Zytiga. If the generic comes down in price I may look at it again but I don’t see that happening.
My doctor told me great when I told her of the lack of hot flashes. Thought I was nuts for changing back. I told her that the hot flashes let me know it was working. She assured me that the drugs were the same. One mans opinion.
Carlo the hot flashes I have been told are a result/side effect of the successful testosterone suppression, thus an indirect result or side effect of the drug. If you have more confidence in the drug you chose, go for it.
Exactly my thought. Right or wrong. Told my drs the same thing. Both patted me on the head and said they had more ways of giving me hot flashes if it made me feel better.
I think both drugs are fine. I just saw a difference and decided to stay with the brand name. Actually went with Johnson and Johnson/Janssen. Mylan is a smaller generic company with way less backing. Just my thinking.

So perhaps not getting the hot flashes, mean that it is not better, but that it is worse? Given that its entire purpose is to reduce testosterone.
