In addition to NTZ (nitazoxanide), a well known and approved anti-parasite drug that has proven to kill PCa there are several more;
niclosamide is one:
"Based on their findings, the researchers have filed a patent for the use of niclosamide to treat p53-deficient cancers. Since this approach targets deficiency rather than a specific mutation, Cheok expects it to be effective against a broad spectrum of cancers. Niclosamide has been used to treat humans for decades and is listed by the WHO as an effective, safe, and cheap medicine, raising hope for its use a potent, safe therapy against a broad spectrum of cancers with non-functional p53. "
These drugs (Tapeworm meds) are on my second line list because I am on Zytiga, I have some concerns about liver function... it is like Itraconazole and Hydroxychloroquine--Phase 2 study in Australia...put them in that do later folder.... for now, Dukoral...
There seems to be something to the theory that antithelmitic/anti parasite drugs have an effect on PCa, but all the evidence so far has been in vitro and in vivo but not much about human use. I did try niclosamide for about 3 months and concluded there was no discernible effect for me. The problem I see is bioavailability. All these drugs are chosen for their insolubility and ability to pass through the gut unchanged and unabsorbed. Very little can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Whether that small amount can have an effect is unclear. There are efforts being made to have a more bioavailable form of niclosamide but I don't know any details.
I had Fido's closasole, two 1 gram tabs. (woof woof) Ground into paste. I also tried mixing with DMSO, very hard to take orally. I tried making a patch with it. I don't recommend DMSO.
