Last Thursday, I had the first MRI after the June 2018 Focal Laser Ablation. The Urologist said he didnt see any other spots on the scan, but still wants to perform a biopsy near the surgery anniversary date. I'm thinking?... NO!! After one of the many biopsies over the years, I got a bactorial infection, and another time a nerve involving sensitivity was bumper because I had erection numbness that lasted several months. So I will continue the MRI scans but no biopsies until something makes an apperance. I will continue to keep my testosterone level up, take my suppliments an the daily CBD oil.

Is your PSA rising.?? Do you have a stable PSA? If stable, then why indeed??? Yeah, he gets $5,000 for the biopsy...

While the cancer is still contained, a biopsy will tell you if you need a "re-do" . FLA has a fairly high rate of re-dos. Because the tissue has been ablated, and MRI can be difficult to interpret. PSA can continue to rise due to cancer in the ablation zone or due to cancer or benign causes in the unablated areas - so it is difficult to use PSA as a biomarker. A few cores targeted at the ablation zone will tell you more, but only if you have a pathologist who can read "messy" tissue.
