I am 50 years old now. When I was diagnosed 3 years ago my PSA 1882 through treatment we got it down to .06. However the last few test it has risen to .18. My doc does not seem to worried, but I am just trying to educate myself on what I can do next so I can talk knowledgeable to the doc. He says there are other treatments available for me,but I do not want to move too fast to a new treatment, because I know I may run out of options at some point.

What were the treatments you underwent to get your PSA levels down from 1882 to 0.06 ? Also, in how much time has it risen to 0.18 ? It has trebled effectively but its important to know in how much time and what medication you are on.

5/11/18 - .06

6/12/18 - .07

9/11/18 - .15

9/14/18 - .18

Toxatera - 6 treatments

Provence - 3 treatments

Xgeva - either every month or every 3 months depending on when I see the doc.

Firmagon 1 treatment (when first diagnosed)

Lupron Depot every six months.

Bicaluyamide (Casodex) 1 - 50 mg tab per day.

I did have my hormone shoot after my September bloodwork.

I see doc again in early Dec.

Your PSA trebling in about 4 months is not good. I am sure there are other more knowledgeable people on this board to advise you.

It would be very interesting for me to know your treatments. Your descent from 1800 to 0.06 is very good.

I am 52 years and 13 months in Zytiga. In my PSA 1350 diagnosis. I have managed to go down to 0.17, but in my last revision 0.26. It seems that it starts to rise. My little oncologist worried, but I something else

See my response above I believe Hopefully this helps. When diagnosed the cancer had spread to most all my bones and lymph system.

How about you. What kind of diagnosis did you have. Seems we maybe in about the same boat with our ages.

In the same boat. Bone metastasis in most bones. A lymph node. An alkaline phosphatase of 2400.

The truth that now physically well. But

worried about the increase in the two previous cotroles.

How you are physically You can make a good life, in our difficult way.

I try to make the best of things. I still work, so my own yard work and spend time with family and friends. I just have to rest more often. All in all I have a good life and try to put this disease out of my mind. I think being surrounded by good people family and friends, trying to eat right, get plenty of sleep. I am always looking for the next treatment. I want to be here as long as I can.

How are you doing?

My great struggle is to get the disease out of my thoughts. In this moment worse mentally than physically. Be well accompanied and have a busy mind, my big goal.

At the moment supporting the road well.

Waiting for the next step. I have only been to Zytiga, very comfortable for me. Hoping to extend what I can with this medication.

As you said, you have several options. Consider Xofigo for the bone mets, followed by Zytiga (you can't do them together). Also consider one of the trials of radiopharmaceuticals.

There is a flaw in your logic of "using up" a therapy. What you are not accounting for is that therapies work better and for a longer time when used earlier. You should also consider the pace at which new therapies are becoming available.

Thank you so much. I will look into the things you mentioned. Also thanks in the advice of how long to use things.
