ok i can't find any replacement for the painful shot of lupron/eliguard. there is one that starts with a fib something sub-cue which i like but u have to take it every month. i remember when lupron was sub-cue and no pain or discomfort. i got my bill today $11,000 as for my PROVENGE treatment $74,000 blesh ss and my sub medical

If you don’t like the Eligard injection you probably won’t like Firmagon (degarelix) which is taken monthly sub-cutaneously as there is often an initial injection site reaction. Firmagon is an agonist as opposed to the Lupron type drugs which are antagonists so a little different mechanism of action. Perhaps you should try another Lupron type drug like Zoladex (goserelin) which you only need to take once every three months. The injection is given sub-cutaneously in your belly by a medical professional.
You might also want to look into Trelstar which is injected into the buttocks and is not very painful at all. I have never had a real problem with it in 5 or so years of use. YMMV.
I have had Trelstar but now on Eligard due to lower cost to hospital. I have not had pain with either. I was told that if it hurts find someone more experienced to do the injection
