Stomach cramps

Advice needed- dads stats: 71 years old stage 4 one met to bone that was treated with cement, Gleason 7 and 8, on Lupron and Zytiga since May... PSA is currently.02 but recently having increased hot flashes and stomach cramps/nausea. Any ideas why the stomach issues now? His last blood work showed some anemia but that’s it... every ache and pain they have you always wonder if it "something else"... I hate seeing him feel bad! Thanks!

I’m on the same stuff and I get bad stomach cramps too from time to time. I’ve just learned to live with it as a side affect of the meds. Highly unlikely you’d have and major spread of your PC with a PSA of.02.

I'm on Zytiga going on 8 months now. I take it at 6:00 AM with a full bottle 12 oz of spring water followed by my Prednisone after Breakfast around 8:00 AM or so. The water actually helps a lot with the Zytiga. It was mentioned on this site when I first started and I have been taking it that way since the beginning and no side effects other than hot flashes but I'm told that's from the Eligard injection.

read the side effects of lupron/eliguard those are what your dad is going thru. did he have surgery or radiation once the psa got above 4 ? i would nip it in the bud now don't wait until it (psa) grows.

Is he on prednisone? This can cause major cramps. My father suffers from the same. Make sure to take prednisone with meal. He can try carafate to help coat stomach. I have also found that papaya enzyme works great too.

Papaya enzymes work well for me while eating...some times 3 bites and I cramp up so much I'm done..three pills chewed and 30 min. and I can finish a meal.
