My husband has been on Erleada since March, but since starting it, has suffered with bad taste in his mouth, to the point of losing his appetite completely. He then began vomiting occasionally. His stomach became very distended, to the point that he cannot bend over, and this also effects his breathing. Our Dr sent us to see a Gastroenterlogist. He took scans and also did a Fibroscopy to look inside the stomach. It would seem my my husband’s oesophagus has slid up through his diaphragm, causing a pouch into his chest cavity, which does not close in the normal way. He is currently on medication, but with the possibility of an operation. The Erleada certainly made this worse, so we dropped down to half dose. Unfortunately he still has vomiting, so we are unsure if any meds are actually staying down long enough to do any good! Due to see Urologist in a few days time. Anyone else had problems like this?
Seems like your H has Hiatal Hernia.. which can cause stomach symptoms...But Erleada causes diarrhea and vomiting in approx.10% people. Hiatal hernia and Erleada both might be responsible for his stomach issues.kTreatment of Hiatal Hernia is medication and/or Surgery. Medication such as Cimetidine helps with its symptoms. Cimetidine is over the counter med in USA. An interesting thing about Cimetidine is that studies have shown that it helps slowing the growth of prostate cancer cells. If meds do not work..then a surgeon can repair the hole in Diaphragm which pushes his stomach back in its right place.
In this article below, Cimetidine is mentioned as a repurposed drug for Cancer.
