This morning I have been reading about side effects many of you are having from Pluvicto. I just finished my third infusion. My PSA has come down from 52 to 30, however, my ALP has jumped from 180 to 240.
I am fortunate, that I have not had the bone pain many of you have experienced. At least so far. Really exhausted. My biggest problem is that I am almost afraid to eat anything because I have significant stomach pain and discomfort as well as discomfort in my intestinal tract. I have had some diarrhea but not significant.
I am curious to know if any of you have experienced this stomach and intestinal pain and if you've had any luck trying to solve it. Please let me know. I so appreciate your input.
I am NO medical expert, so pls ask your MO, but what helps my husband a lot when his stomach is upset, is probiotics. There is a really great one called Bio-K. We get it at Whole Foods and it comes refrigerated. (A lil pricey, but we’ll worth the expense) If your MO approves, get the NON-dairy one, for obvi reasons, but it also tastes better. (Mini liquid yogurt-like drink) Has 50 billion count of active probiotics. Also, probiotics should always be cold, or the live cultures die quickly. Check how it’s stored and shipped. My hubs swears by it, his MO approves it during chemo and my gastro recommended it to me when I was taking antibiotics. Hope you feel better.
Lol. He likes the blueberry, I like the mango. I believe one is fermented rice, the other fermented soy. I forget which is which. Both are decent. They may have other non-dairy flavors, too.
The only thing they had was blueberry non-dairy. It is not bad I wouldn’t say it if I had to pick it out of the lineup versus a strawberry milkshake or do it ha. But at any rate how long do you guys take it every day for how long? Thanks so much for all your input, Tom
When needed, he does one (sometimes two) a day. I personally use them every other week or so. (give or take) Keeps your gut bacteria flora healthy. Your wife can try one as well, if she wants. Hope it helps.
Everything is pricey! Ugh. I would do one a day for 5 days, until you feel better. Then you can probably do 2 or 3 a week or as needed. After that, take them occasionally for maintenance. So many meds going into your body, it will help balance your gut. Again, I’m no medical expert, so ask your MO, but that’s what my hubs does.
You also may want to ask your MO about a script for Omeprazole (Prilosec) I completely forgot that’s what my hubs and I were both prescribed. He takes them before meals from time to time, when needed. (But not daily) I was also prescribed 1 daily, for 30 days, also before meals.
thank you so much for your recommendation of bio K. My stomach is 80% better and trust me that’s significant hope you and your hubby are doing great. It’s 116 here in Arizona today. Even the bugs are blowing up.
YAY! 🎉This makes me so happy! I’m usually not a natural product pusher, but when something works, it works! And, it was recommended by my doc. I’m so glad you feel better, Tom!
Btw- I’m an ASU Alumni, so I know that heat well. I remember walking that enormous campus in 100+ temp. Felt like an oven. But, I love Arizona! My best friend lives there. Go Sun-Devils!
Approx 3-5 days. Shortly after my hubs got his PCa Dx, I ended up in ER with the worst stomach pains I ever felt in my life. That lead me to an endoscopy. I was Dx’d with and ulcer. Both my PCP and my gastro believed I made myself sick. Crazy! Ulcer gone, thank god. Anyway, my gastro highly recommended I take Bio-K. Helps the hubs, too. If your pain persists, tell your MO. Keep me posted.
I am starting the fourth week after my first Pluvicto infusion. The Fatigue is terrible and the stomach and GI trac has a lot of rumbling and discomfort. All of my joints and muscles are sore and it is effecting my sitting, laying in bed and walking. My PSA did go up after the first infusion...............i am just a loss as to which way to turn. I am canceling by blood work for today, because i just don't feel good. Second infusion of Pluvicto will be September 11th. Thinking about canceling it and the following four.
I have similar side effects and I've just finished my 4th injection of pluvicto. I certainly not your doctor, but I would get some blood tests to know if it's working. Just my thoughts. Please keep us posted. We are all here to help each other. Tom
Form 52 - now 20. Not as much as I'd like but it's an improvement. Just so you know, I'm in touch with probably 10 guys who have either finished pluvicto or are in the process of having Pluvicto. It did not work for half of them. Some had no side effects and some had the same side effects that you and I are having.
I have had this crap for 21 years and have tried more awful treatments than probably anybody. My feeling, if I can find a treatment that will give me a couple more months On this earth without debilitating side effects I'm going to go for it. Not quite ready to crossover just yet. Best luck to you sure keep its posted - Tom
