My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer 2 1/2 years ago. He was on casodex 18 months and then switched to Xtandi one year ago. His PSA was never more than 4 but alk phos was 4000. His PSA has been < .1 for two years but last month it was .2. Doctor doesn’t think it’s significant but articles I’ve seen sound like it could be. Any experience with this?

That’s not a dramatic change. Watch to see if the next one indicates a trend. Best to you.

My onc told me that the < was significant, meaning PSA was undetectable, so .2 would mean it is detectable again and worthy of watching closely and perhaps plotting your next play should that be necessary.
