Hi, I'm Mark, and recently joined. Made a few posts already. Dx was Sept '17 PSA just under 10. Had RP in Oct (Fri the 13th even). Pre-surgery MRI and bone scan indicated no metastasis, but my PSA never dropped to zero. Seven weeks after surgery it was 0.77 and went down as low as 0.48, but then in March it started going back up. Did MRI and CT and found a suspicious lymph node and they officially decided I had advanced PC. So they gave me my options and I started Lupron 2 weeks ago and Zytiga 10 days after that. Now I'm scheduled for radiation in Sept of '18. Waiting to see what my first follow up at the end of July shows for my PSA (baseline at 0.87 the day I got my Lupron injection).

I hope the salvage radiation cures it.

MMMAyham,

Welcome to the site and wish you well in the radiation. It’s a process but keep positive. I was fortunate to go through rounds of radiation with minimal side effects.

I ditto jackpine. I had 39 sessions of Radiation (5 per week X 8 weeks, no weekends). Was a breeze and no side effect except that a couple of years later they found damage to my left urinary tract. So in and out go the urinary stents (also a breeze). Hopefully you won't have any major side effects later on. Rads done at MSKcc in New York City.

Good Luck and Good Health.

MSK is where I'm going for treatment. Live upstate and the 3-4 hour drive is somewhat inconvenient but it's worth it for the standard of care and expertise you receive. I'll stay at Hope Lodge and come home on weekends.

You're in good hands at MSKcc. My Oncologist is Dr. Michael Morris at Kimmel center on 68 Street.

Good Luck and Good Health.

My urologist/surgeon is Brett Carver and the MO I first saw is Dana Rathkopf, both of whom are in Kimmel too. My RO is Sean McBride a few blocks from there on the main campus. He's overseeing my hormone therapy now as well.
