Diagnosed 8/13 Gleason 8 metatistic in at least one lymph node. Proton therapy and seeds, reoccurrence in 10/15 cryotherapy and lupron, Provenge in 2017, and then rising PSA and now XTandi May 8th. PSA now down .8. Started plant based diet and keto and not sugar. Looking more options before these bullets run out.

That's a good response to Xtandi. Hopefully that will last awhile. You can try Zytiga after that, but it usually doesn't last long. i think docetaxel would be a better choice. You also haven't tried Xofigo yet. And there are lots of clinical trials. Lots of choices.

If Tom's mets are lymph nodes only, Xofigo would not be approved for this use. That's my husband's problem having run thru most everything else in the last 9 years.

Hello Tom,

Since you are interested in nutrition information you might have a look at the recommendations of the National Cancer Society. See:

cancer.gov/about-cancer/tre...

That document has non-technical info intended for patients. Click on "Go to Health Professional Version" to see more technical data.

I also think that Patrick O'Shea's postings in this group, although they tend to be technical, are very knowledgeable. See the "pinned post" on "Off Topic, How to find postings by a particular person."

Your case sounds aggressive. I don't believe that nutrition and supplements are going to stop your cancer from progressing, but they might help slow it down.

Best of luck.

Alan

Gleason 4+3, PSA 11. Am taking Lupron in preparation for HDR brachytherapy. Just started low dose naltrexone (LDN) as there is lots of good results being reported, and it is cheap. Good luck!
