How do you deal with demand avoidance?

I came across a post from "rebelwithoutadrink" here instagram.com/reel/DCho2QTv....

It resonates with me and it creates a lot of tension in my home and stress for me.

How do you deal with this in a healthy manner, especially when your family does not recognize or support your ADHD?

Hi GirlInTheCorner...it was very rocky for my me and my family...this simply did not change until after 4 yrs, post diagnosis... I did so much learning and understanding ADHD I found what to say in an understandable way and eventually my wife started to see how much I was struggling...now, she and my sons understand I need support and just a tiny bit of change from them to help manage my traits... remember we can't really change other ppl, but when we make changes, things start to change around us and at the end of the we are a team... they want just as much of a peaceful life...it's how we make them understand that's the goal... sometimes a LOT of our issues are environmental...good luck my friend
