30 years ago I took ritalin for 2 years, no meds since then. Issues: interruptions, poor impulse controls, rude, angry and agitated, poor listening skills, poor focus skills, marital disconnect from me, easily distracted. Are there medication options(prescription, OTC, naturapathic, homeopathic) behavioral interventions(meditation, TM, What can I do(CBT, DBT). At a loss and losing my marriage. Any suggestions are needed.

Hi Latch, Some of the best help you might get is reading the posts and replies on this website form folks like you who are having similar issues Getting informed about ADHD is very important for helping you decide your path. Many who post/reply here are taking prescription medications, many are in some form of behavioral therapy, some are taking over the counter supplements to help, while others are exercising and watching their nutrition in addition to taking meds.

Be aware that there is no cure, there is no magic pill, but there are quite a lot of things that you can do to reduce ADHD's traits, improve your life and the life of those around you.

I'm confused a little about your post where you say you are 79 years old and have been dealing with ADHD for 70 years, but your bio says that you are 59.

Hi L, Thanks for the clarification. BTW I'm 73, and probably like you, dealing with a lot of years of accumulating problems with our ADHD. Glad to have this site, with the connection to others who have gone through, or who are going through similar situations. It was here that I picked up the recommendation for Hallowell and Ratey's book ADHD 2.0. Great usable information and insight.
