ADHD & Meetings

Meetings can be challenging for anyone, but for individuals with ADHD, they can feel particularly overwhelming. The combination of distractions, information overload, and the need for sustained attention can make it difficult to contribute effectively. However, by using SMART goals, individuals with ADHD can enhance their focus, productivity, and overall meeting experience.

**Prepare in Advance:** Before the meeting, outline your SMART goals. Write them down and keep them accessible during the meeting to remind yourself of your objectives.

**Use Visual Aids:** Consider using visual tools like mind maps or bullet points to help structure your thoughts and keep you on track.

**Limit Distractions:** Create a distraction-free environment. This might mean turning off notifications on your devices or using headphones to minimize background noise.

**Practice Active Listening:** Engage with the speakers by nodding, making eye contact, and jotting down notes. This helps maintain your focus and reinforces your presence in the conversation.

**Reflect Post-Meeting:** After the meeting, evaluate your performance against the goals you set. What worked well? What could you improve next time? This reflection will help refine your goal-setting process for future meetings.

How many of these do you practice on a regular basis??
