Built In Distraction

Is anyone else noticing how computer programs are creating more and more hurdles for those of us with ADHD. Every time I open Adobe, Microsoft, or other business software I am inundated with "Look at me" tips. They are distracting and detrimental to my work.

I was wondering if there has been any movement to get this kind of behavior listed as against the ADA?

Does anyone know how to fight against these microaggressions?

I know what you are talking about. These adds contribute to our ADHD tax for sure. There has to be a way to turn them off for us. If you hear anything, lmk right away. I will totally sign things that say that pop up ads are detrimental for our mental health.

Im not really talking about adds, Im talking about "help features" within profesional software that pop up while you are working. These are far more insidious than web popups.

Ok, gotcha. Is this software purchased and they added those? Maybe contact their customer support and tell them you need to find the setting to turn it off? 🤷‍♀️

pop ups are not uniquely annoying to just those of us with ADHD. LOL they annoy everyone! pop ups are modern day way for people to sell their goods, services, n brands. long ago, people could pay for tv n radio ads to do this. whatever pop up gets ur attention will then throw u into an algorithm to get more ads like it.

its modern day marketing n its not going away- likely it will get more cunning n invasive.

annoying af- but not just to those of us with adhd😊

yeah I am not talking about pop-ups. Rather I am referring to professional, paid for software that have "features" that are called out while we are working.

ohh… i see. thanks for clarifying:)
