recently diagnosed - switched from 20mg x2 daily Ritalin to 30mg Vyvanse.
I have noticed every afternoon at the same time I get a red face, red ears, red neck.
I also have anxiety so my mind untimely goes to worse case scenario, something very wrong. I also struggle taking new meds (part of my anxiety).
My question is, is this a known side effect of the medication, I have asked my practitioner however they have not gotten back to me (appointment isn’t until a few weeks)
Thanks in advance for any insights

I’m on 60mg Vyvanse, and 15mg adderall— I don’t get the redness, though there is a period each day where I’ll get a certain sensation, which feels overwhelming— I can’t describe it better.
Going to the worst case scenario— I have a natural propensity, and the byproduct from the Vyvanse, particularly, the clarity of thought and focus, increases the intensity of worst case scenario ruminating. Mine leads me to think the worst in people, sometimes with my own family.
I apologize. I was half asleep when I responded. I read the part of your anxiety and assumed incorrectly. After rereading, it is probably just change in blood pressure for the stimulant med. nothing to be anxious about, but you could get a blood pressure cuff and start checking regularly just in case. Also, write it down for the docs.
I’m taking Vyvanse 40mg and I have not side effects. The only thing is that it makes me feel I little hyperactive, which is good for me because I have ADD and I’m very calm. It helps to finish all my tasks fast.
The symptoms that you have are rare but serious allergic reactions to this med. I suggest to look for medical help right away or stop taking it if you cannot have medical assistance.
so don’t worry too much. That must just be how your body reacts to having a higher blood pressure. However, you say it’s the afternoon… Like 3-4 hours after taking the med? That’s when it should be wearing off as long as you have the immediate release (IR) version. If you have the extended release (ER) version, it may be starting to really amp up around 3-4 hours and would make more sense that your blood pressure is up with the red skin.
I have been off Vyvanse for sometime now. Switched to Adzenys and found that not to work either. I am now on Concerta which is a stimulant (generic name is methylphenidate). I have been on it for over a month and I feel my memory is better and focus improved.
