struggling with adhd as I’m getting older

I live in Missouri and I don’t really have health insurance. I’ve done therapy and taken tests in which I was told by the therapist it is very clear that I have ADHD. as I’m getting older and older it’s becoming harder and harder. I really think that I could benefit from medication, however without having a physician or insurance I am left, wondering where to go or how to start that.

I am wondering if you might qualify for Medicaid? That program would pay for your doctor visits and medication. The only other option would be to save your money and pay cash or look into lower cost insurance. Best wishes.

Hi Spunkyspiffer,

Living with ADHD is not easy, specially when you getting older. I was in your situation before and I understand how are you feeling. It’s true, the meds helped but they are also natural alternatives. You should search for this alternatives. I know medication gives faster results but also they have side affects. Doing exercise everyday, having a healthy diet, and taking supplements help the same way as the meds and is all natural without side effects. I know it’s hard to have a healthy lifestyle but I think it’s worth it. Right now I’m taking meds but I’m thinking in switching to a healthy lifestyle because I consider is the best thing to do with this condition.
