any free online zoom support groups?

I think there should be support groups for ADHD, just like there are for addictions. If it's governed In a similar way, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. People helping people, supporting themselves via their own small contributions... Anybody interested???????????

Unless it exists?

I fully support your idea! ADDA has free online support groups for adults with ADHD and there are a few groups on Facebook that are very active. What I like most about ADDA is that the support groups can be very specific. For example, a group for women over 50. You can check out all of their groups here: add.org/adda-virtual-programs/

Dummy question, what part is free? What I saw was you pay a membership to join the community and then you can join groups.

Hi KuroIsLittle - apologies, I forgot I was a member of ADDA. If you become a member, the support groups should be available. I believe membership is around $8 per month. You could sign up for a month, check out a few support groups, and if you are finding value continue paying per month or sign up for a year at a slight discount.

My therapist suggested this would be good for me, since I like 12 step programs. That quest is what brought me here initially. It’s a great idea.

First of all, welcome to the community IzzyBored !

I recently (about 1 month ago) joined the Men's ADHD Support Group on Facebook. (I heard about it on an ADHD podcast. The support group has now grown so much, it has spawned a nonprofit organization.) mensadhdsupportgroup.org/

I like that Facebook community, and I'm on there almost as much as I'm on this forum. They have regular Zoom meetings (every week or two), but I haven't made it to one of them yet.

~~~~~
Some people on this forum have talked about having Zoom meetings. I considered starting one myself, but my life is unpredictable enough that I hesitate to do so right now; I don't think that I can commit to it.
I'm sure that if someone starts a Zoom meeting, others will be interested in joining.
I went through the ADHD reWired Coaching program (ArC), and there's a large community that's related to it (not just for coaching participants and alumni of the program). The name of that community is "Adult Study Hall" (ASH).
That community is very active, and there are opportunities for virtual meetings all the time. However, it is subscription based. The subscription cost has made it hard for me to commit to paying ($19.99/mo), simply because I don't think I would use it more than a handful of times a month.
This got me thinking... This forum is affiliated with CHADD, and CHADD has an affiliate group program. chadd.org/affiliate-locator/
While I know that it's hard for me to commit to a specific time, I very much want to enable the ability for Zoom/other virtual meetings. I would be willing and able to start a virtual CHADD affiliate for this community, if CHADD would be open to it.
(What I envision is time-based virtual meetings, instead of a location-based affiliate. I don't have a well-formed picture yet...just the initial idea.)
Join the attention deficit disorder Association. They have multiple support groups that meet weekly by biweekly monthly, etc. for various different topics. The one uniting factor is they all include ADHD.
Hello IzzyBored,
Thank you for contacting CHADD National Resource Center on ADHD. We have support groups for adults and parents. Here is the link chadd.org/affiliate-locator/ if you are interested, if there's not a support group in your area, you are welcome to join another CHADD Support Group in another state. If you are also interested in starting a support group here is the link, chadd.org/get-involved/volu... it's a four-step process.
If you have further questions, please let us know. We are here to help!
I'm in one, but they stopped being active recently. I would like to find a group that meets online, has regular messaging on some kind of app as well.
