An increasing number of older adults seek an evaluation for ADHD when they realize it’s something more than aging that is affecting their executive functioning. Read more at bit.ly/CHADDOlderorADHD

ADHD Weekly -- Is It Part of Being Older, or Is It ADHD?
WTF? "Partner?" Is this new or have I just missed the advertising masked as user posts here? Call me a conspiracy theorist, but this click-bate seems like a blatant attempt to induce drug seeking. It ain't hard either - was Dx'ed as a child and didn't even get evaluated when I decided to resume meds 25 years later. I suppose I know the lingo due to my Dx (and am a nurse) but I was surprised how easy it was to obtain narcotics without medical records. I even offered to obtain Kaiser records and they declined!
IDK, I am vehemently against prohibition, so maybe I shouldn't care but this seems like a violation. Like a nicotine gum rep taking the podium at an AA meeting. STFU
Actually, KarenADHDWeekly is part of the moderation team for this forum (CHADD's Adult ADHD Support). I'm not sure if the title "Partner" is a change. I thought Karen was listed as a "Moderator" before.
CHADD sponsors this forum, so they do post links to content on the CHADD.org website.
(I go there for information maybe once a week, but I come here daily for the community, because I get a lot more out of talking with fellow forum users like yourself.)
Hello STEM_Dad,
You're correct. HealthUnlocked has made that change, not us. CHADD partners with HealthUnlocked to provide this forum. I am still one of the CHADD moderators of this forum; the manager of our Health Information Team is the other moderator.
I am glad to read that you have found community and support on this forum; I have worked on helping to build that community since we first started working with HealthUnlocked. Thank you for being part of our community.
Best regards,
Karen

Hello Blue,
The post that you are concerned about goes over to an article on CHADD's website, chadd.org/adhd-news/adhd-ne...
I encourage you to read the article, especially if you are interested in ADHD after the age of about 40. While CHADD does have education modules that are for purchase, you will see that we have a great deal of information that is free and accessible for anyone. The newsletter is part of CHADD's National Resource Center's programing that is supported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The article isn't selling anything, it is providing information to those who may be interested in this topic.
Thank you for concern and please be assured there's no conspiracy or plan or anything like that. HealthUnlocked changed the title below my name, but my role and CHADD's role on this forum has not changed.
Best wishes,
Karen
