I’m giving the f—-up !😖😫🥺😔😢😫😤🫥🫡🫣😵🤕🤮I have gone for more than three yrs which should be unacceptable with cPTSD and abuse and except for medicine that didn’t do the trick or work NADA no one will help me ! They shut door Have a good day “ Pass you off constantly like a weary neglected old BATON race I’m losing . 😔I CANT ITS GETTING HARDER with UNTREATED no one to talk to about my physical abuse , etc . I’m older adhd symptoms got worse of course . because I have not been able to find any counseling . it’s a complete joke just few week ago I had a secretary tell me “ Oh yes he has vacancy but he makes more $$$ by seeing immigrants so he won’t call you back “ I usually don’t post whether service good or bad . But after this Dr’s own staff said that I posted a review this psychologist is a charlatan and full of hot air. I’m beyond despondent and think I’ll never reach or GET MY that CHANCE to shine or see my unlimited potential my health is poorest fibromyalgia I’m super incredibly resilient But my soul is weary and I’m losing this fight . Adhd is winning I’m drowning 🛟.

It is a business. Call your local Domestic Violence or Rape Crisis Center and ask if they can refer you to someone who specializes in adults with trauma. If you do not have insurance, look for Federally Qualified Health Center in your area. They charge based on income. If your state expanded Medicaid, you may or may not qualify. Put Your State Name Medicaid Application in Google

Ugg. I’m so sorry. I have been trying to find a therapist myself. It’s difficult to find someone right now. I have Kaiser insurance and they are referring people to outside therapy, which means more options. I look through all of the therapist’s that are covered outside of Kaiser, read their bio and call the ones that have similar interests to my own so I feel comfortable and we have things in common. I called a handful of places last week and even though their site says accepting new patients, they are not. Everyone is needing therapy right now. The last place I called had a therapist who I was really excited to make an appointment with, but was told she isn’t accepting new patients. The receptionist then asked what I’m looking for in someone and I told her it’s really that I had things in common with this one, to which she told me that though she’s not accepting patients, she’ll get in contact with them to let them know I was specifically requesting them. That was this past Friday. They called me back on Monday and scheduled me with that provider! I have adhd and childhood trauma.

All of this to say, just keep trying. It’s discouraging, but you’ll find someone!

One more thing- The receptionist you spoke with should never have spoke like that about the therapist you called about. It was incredibly unprofessional and it’s here say.

P.S Here is a link to some free, prerecorded meditations. These work better for me than any other meditations I’ve used. My friend is someone who offers some of them. 😘

What state are you in? If you are in WA look up Katheryn at venus-rising.org. she specializes in cptsd and adhd! I'm sorry for your experience unfortunately there are bad apples out there. Keep looking there are good therapists out there.

Please don't give up. ADHD is becoming more known about. More people are being trained to help. The ADDITUDE website has quite a lot of free information you might find helpful until you find a therapist.

I get you . I get this totally . I’m in the same situation In uk. Im 48 , diagnosed ASD and adhd in last year plus multiple traumas in my life . I have had 2 lots of awful so called therapy in 2 years . One of 10 sessions where all she did was agree how bad things are for me , and tell me I couldn’t have adhd as I’m not bouncing around ? And the told me she found it hard to work with me as I talk a lot ???

And the second , 4 sessions , result was to join a Buddhist centre and stop avoiding things .

Lost mum and dad In last 5 years , mum last year , my new business I had to shut we couldn’t cope with the stress ( bookkeeping ) . I studied for 3 years to gain and advanced diploma in accounting and bookkeeping but in practice , it was too stressful , and I now have no Interest in it . No one seems to care . Or want to help . I too feel my soul Is warring very thin.

I’ve been on anti depressant since a near fatal car crash at 18 , then pyschiatry uk diagnosed me adhd , tried me elvanse and dexamphetamin, both were too much of a roller coaster and increased anxiety . Now they trying me on methylphenidate, and this hits chills me too much out, like even at 5mg twice a day . And they saying they don’t want to try the non stimulants die to my Crohn’s disease and the sleepy side effects .

Sooo, do I just call it a day now at 48? Is that it ?
