I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and I just decided I would like to take a stimulant on a regular basis. I have tried Adderall in the past and while I liked the focus it gave me it was too harsh for my stomach and gave me heart palpitations.
I started Concerta a little over a week ago. The first couple days it was amazing. I had so much energy and focus, I was literally going from one thing to another all day getting things done, So productive. Then it changed , now I am super tired, unmotivated and feel very blah. It’s been a couple days now and I don’t know if I should give it more time or discontinue it. I know sometimes you have to ride out the side affects but it seems that it reversed course on me instead of getting better.
Has anyone had this experience?

Your dose could have been too high ... and you were running around those first days ... and now you're exhausted. That happens a lot. Means you did too much on those early days and wore yourself out physically (and mentally).
Make sure you are getting adequate sleep and so on ... exercise ... also ... even with meds, if I hyper clean one day ... I will not feel like doing that the next day ...
it made me so drowsy I couldn’t hold my head up. As soon as it kicked in, I would lay down and sleep for two hours. I never got the up and running motivation back. It made me obsessively focus on a research topic but I couldn’t get up and do tasks. I switched to Adderall and am fine! Since you can’t take Adderall talk to your dr and see if a lower dose is better. Good luck!!
