I am an adult with ADHD diagnosed in my teenage years. I lost my papers a while back and since becoming a mom of two and in early menopause (I'm 43) my symptoms are so difficult and effecting my mental health and production. I feel like I am swimming just to keep my head above water and it is unfair for my family and myself. I am trying to get support. I live in the Philadelphia area and have been reaching out to the UPenn ADHD program but they have no openings. I think I need to be evaluated for medicine and while I have a therapist I would like one with an ADHD background. Does anyone know anywhere I can go besides UPenn to get help specifically for ADHD?

Looking for ADHD support, diagnosis, counseling etc in Philly area.
So sorry you are struggling. Psychologytoday.com has a therapist etc finder, you can filter for geographic area as well as for specific need. Best wishes.
Just google psychiatrists and ADHD. Google automatically conducts a search for your area. In the philly area there are lots of top-flight psychiatrists who treat ADHD along with depression and anxiety and so on. Some of the best have written reviews you'll see.
Many of these folks who will pop up on google don't take health insurance. So no $25 copay. But they can be worth it. You may need to look for the burbs and south jersey as well.
It is MUCH harder to find a psychiatrist who takes health insurance and $25 copays. But there are some nurse practitioners (official name "advanced psychiatric nurse practitioner") who take insurance and/or who charge less than psychiatrists. They can prescribe and in my view, they are every bit as good as psychiatrists. You might have luck calling your insurance company, asking for them to help your search.
Good luck.
P.S.
With computer records, are you sure the original "papers" can't be recovered? Not that papers mean a lot of all psychiatrists.
