Struggling with adhd
I’m sorry you feel this way, I also struggled my way through school. I dropped out of highschool and ended up returning through an adult education program- I found this to be MUCH easier, once the social pressure was gone it was easier to focus on my goal. I’ll add, my goal was not to learn-but just to graduate. The school system (like much of society) was built and tailored for neurotypical minds, and there’s little resources for people with cognitive differences, which is how I choose to see ADHD as opposed to a disorder per se. I don’t believe that your ability to perform in the education system is a good measure of your intelligence, there’s just so many factors that play against you that other people don’t see. It does make life very complicated, but as long as you keep trying, you’re already winning!
Keep your smile brother. It is defintely hard with ADHD. I have had it my whole life and thought I had a low IQ. I read somewhere that people with ADHD do terrible on tests due to the test being timed which is hard for people with adhd because of the working memory. Intelligence tests that allowed more time showed people with adhd not only did well on them but they showed great intelligence based on that test. So you may have difficulty with timed tests, stress about it, or maybe it's the subject matter. It doesn't mean you have a low IQ. Even if you did, those tests don't tell you who you are and what you can do. Only you have that power.
