I’m finally going to see a psychiatrist

I’m going to see one but I’m scared that he might not believe that I have adhd or something like it. I exhibit all of most of the symptoms. Although I know I’m not supposed to self diagnose I know my body well enough to know that I need help. It’s been getting worse. I’m scared that it’s nothing. There are some examples what I go through everyday in my profile. But I hate class settings now because of those people talk loudly during our discussions because it causes pain or something like it. I just hate loud sounds in general

Congratulations on making an appointment to see a psychiatrist. Personally, it was one of my biggest hurdles to finally getting help. You know yourself better than anybody, if you find that your psych person isn't listening to you, you have the ability to find a second opinion or find a psychiatrist that will honor what you are saying. If you find that they are being dismissive or rude, you have the right to have a healthcare professional that will treat you like a human being, and you're allowed to let them know that.

Personally, I found it really helpful to be honest about my fear that my mental illness wasn't real, that I was scared that no one would believe me, that I was just making it a bigger deal than it needed to be. That's all part of the mental wellness/illness package sometimes. <3 Good job on being brave and taking a huge step into getting the treatment/help you deserve.
