Decided that after 5 years it is time to change psychiatrists. I really liked my psych but he was not super well versed with ADHD and talk therapy and medication only do so much. Now that I have my anxiety and depression stable I decided I want to make more progress with my ADHD. I found a new psychiatrist for med management and a therapist for ADHD/Anxiety/Depression. The other hard part is my old therapist didn’t take my insurance so it was expensive to go. The new doctors are at the same clinic and both take my insurance so fingers crossed that they are a good fit.

My psych was very understanding when I told him I was thinking about switching and I know if all else fails I can probably go back if this doesn’t work out. Honestly, I am not the biggest fan of change so this was a very hard decision for me to make and actually took me a year or more to finally make the decision.

Anyway I just wanted to share my little life update. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

This sounds like a solid plan 💜

Hey Mille_5

That's a very well reasoned plan. Good luck with the new psychiatrist, sometimes it takes a few changes to find the best one(s).

Best regards

When I was shopping for a new doc, I asked my insurance for a list of those in my network. Then I asked my therapist if she or her coworkers could recommend any of them. That helped me find someone relatively affordable.
