Trying to be a better human!

I'm 31 life long ADHD only diagnosed about a year ago. By the grace of God I have been able to go to work still during COVID. I pray for those stuck at home I couldn't imagine trying to sell cars from home with my wife and 4 kids, all under 10, running wild. But we are slow sometimes, not normal for us, and I get to research, plan, reflect, and so on. I want to use my ADHD to hyperfocus on being a better man, husband, son, brother, Christian, employee, friend, and human. I have been on Ritalin 20mg (2 months RAGE MACHINE), Vyvanse 40mg (6 months got to be to much $ w/o insurance), and now Focalin XR 30mg but need to up it I think. Vyvanse helped with my health a lot I lost 35lbs. quit smoking and felt better. Focalin XR is different but good still. I have kept the weight off started running, quit drinking, cut down on caffeine, and worked to spend more time with family to get things right. I still dip smokeless tobacco and stay up to late most days. I just get in my world sometimes and don't care about whats not in it. I want to do more and be better just want to know what tools, activities, daily vitamins, foods, drinks, podcast, or anything else that helps!

I give you credit. Even with your ADHD, U R proceeding on with your life and able to earn an living going outside of your house to provide for your family. With upping your meds, U and your doctor need to work this out together. It can be a tricky process and might take a little while for your doctor to tweak the meds. Im on 25 MG of Strattera. My Doctor told me to try to take 50 MG to make me more attentive. unfortunately, I felt like I was jumping out of my skin. I was still able to complete my day of work but it was certainly a challenge

Hi it’s Shnookie. I was on Adderal b4 Strattera. Adderal worked to a certain.

But to be honest, between the Adderal I was on and the TMJ I had, I ruined my teeth and now wear dentures. This does not mean that this will happen to U. I was at a highly stressful job that probably caused my TMJ. But please talk to your

doctor and dentist re protecting your teeth even ask about a mouth guard.

I’m 62 and have officially been diagnosed

with ADHD and bipolar disorder since early 1998. Since then I have been on a cocktail 🍹 of meds. Right now my cocktail includes 10 mg of generic lexapro 2x a day, 25 mg of lamictal 2x

a day; small dosage of Clonozapem

anti-anxiety pill to help relax me at night to go asleep 😴. Since COVID my

shrink has allowed me to take a little more of it during the day if I get very

stressed due to the financial stress I’m

under and 10 mg of Haldol twice a day.

even with all of these meds, I still have my days. There is a long history of mental

health issues on my mother’s side of the

family and I’m Jewish and my father’s mother was a Holocaust survivor

with survivor’s guilt and my father was a gambler so I was born with a lot of genetic baggage. That doesn’t mean that this stopped my life but enough challenges in my 62 years of life.

I’m lucky I have this group, shrink

a social worker and good supportive friends. U can feel better too. Sometimes U must dig deep into your soul and push to get thru certain challenges. I’m not saying that it’s going to work all the time, But the desire

to I’ve your life in a better way combined

Hey Those are awesome girls I need to sit down and think about mine right now I am just trying to make it to the next day. Do you mind sharing your medication Journey I’ll go first

The latest regimen that I have been following is

20mg of immediate release adderall twice a day

20mg of Adderall XR twice a day

Lexapro and wellbutrin once a day.

Originally I was on Vyvanse 20 mg and Adderall immediate release and I was doing well but when I changed insurance companies the Vyvanse is no longer covered and I had to switch to Adderall XR. It worker for three years.

Even when I put it on paper it sounds like a lot but it is truly not working for me anymore so recently and I tried Focalin and found that it made me dangerously sleepy! I even tried to take the Focalin with the immediate release adderall and I had a burst of energy and agitation for about one hour and then total drowsiness. How was your experience
