Focalin XR

my son is on 20mg focalin xr and 2mg guanfacine daily. He has been on stimulants for over a year but the focalin is new within the past couple months.

He was placed on focalin XR 20 and was doing well until march. He started having this severe fear of bees and wouldn't go outside. He has always been active , outdoors and fully immersed in sports. It was debilitating. The doctor added in risperidone for him being irritable.

My almost 12 yo son takes Focalin xr plus 100 mg of Zoloft for anger/anxiety/emotional outbursts. (He takes a very small does of Guanfacine at night but I don’t know that it does much) Lately his attitude is very crabby/cranky/angry.

I noticed this also with short act Focalin, but more since starting Quillivant XR. She seems more short fused with frustration than previously (noted with both Focalin and Quillivant XR. ) When these concerns were mentioned to the psychiatrist, she switched from Focalin to Quillivant XR.

My son (11) has been on Focalin XR for about 2 months (5mg the first month - no effect, and now 10mg). We've noticed that around 7pm, he often can get super down and sad. It's not every night, but it's at least a couple times a week.

We've tried Adderall, strattera, Ritalin, focalin, Quelbree, all negative side effects. He also it's constantly and is about 20 to 30 lb overweight. Even with the Vyvanse he just eats all the time, which I know is normal for teenagers as he is my fifth son. I am looking for any advice.

It wasn’t working so we increased the dose a few times and then I tried Focalin and Adderall, increased doses…. you see the pattern, right? Then my psychiatrist recommended that I take a month off of all ADHD meds and focus on getting my blood pressure under control.

Then eventually once his focalin kicks in, he will turn off the tv for a couple hours, only to resume later. Later on, it seems as if he is on autopilot, and hard to manage him. He basically lays around all day and watches tv when he should be in school.

We have tried an intuitive, focalin and Adderall. The intuitive he still takes daily, the focalization was a complete fail (made him aggressive) and the Adderall we are still in the two weeks of trying it. Have any other parents had similar struggles?

My 7 yo is currently on 15 mg of Focalin daily. I know the medication suppresses appetite during the day, but in the evening he eats enough food for a grown man. Does anyone else have this experience?

His doctor again had us stop the anxiety meds so he is back to just Focalin 10mg. That has been since Monday this week. Tuesday was a fantastic day at school and at home.

29y/o F - I have been taking adderall XR for a little over a year. It seemed to be working, but we did up my morning dosage to give me a bit of a boost. In May 2024, my OB prescribed me Wellbutrin, but it made me an anxious mess and my Psychiatrist told me to stop immediately.

Also take Klonopin 0.5 x 2 really want to get off it and take wellbutrin XR 150. mg x1 . I think I am on too many medications. My Doctor started the Effexor XR 37.5 to try to slowly get off all these drugs. I hurt all over and nauseous.

Has anyone had withdrawal symptoms from doing this I was only on 5 mg of Lexapro down from ten then started the Effexor XR just feeling really sick and very anxious I know it can take awhile. I do have a very good therapist. I am trying to put all my faith in Our Lord And Savior.

Our 6 yr old refuses to take Quillivant XR some mornings. She says it causes her to lose self control, increase anxiety. Not in these exact words but similar. What do we do?

I was initially prescribed Adderall XR. Adderall XR was helpful but when taking it for extended periods (during school year), it would become less effective throughout the day.

We went back to her psychiatrist and he recommended we get her on Quillivant XR. My fear is that she will develop an addiction or be more prone to one in her adult life if we start her on meds at this age. What’s your experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

So whenever I’m not feeling good even with Effexor XR I run to him to talk to him and ask him for help. I have a large beautiful framed picture of the Lord praying in the garden of Bethsemany. The lord is good he will help you in your darkest hour, believe me I know !

We tried adderall xr for awhile to no avail then switched to methylphenidate er which has seemed to make somewhat of an impact. He seems to be more attentive in class and improving in that area. My concern has turned to his social skills. This area has always been a challenge for him.
