Checking in with everyone

Hi everyone,

Work got so busy and like I was saying in my previous post boy does it throw me for a loop.

But whenever I get to that low point in the day I take a deep breath, tell myself I decided to take this job, I know my limitations, and I know this is not going to bring me down!!

Eventually I want to help young children 13-21 with achieving the things people tell them can’t be achieved. I want to start with a health and fitness business that provides a fun and encouraging place for children to learn and grow physically and mentally. I see children asking their parents for home cooked meals instead of drive through because they want to become XY&Z.

I want to stand in a crowd of people look out and know that I’ve enabled those children and young adults to make positive and healthy decisions in life.

This is just ONE of the things that keeps me going in the day. Many people I tell this idea to question my ability because I don’t have a college degree, I’ve never stuck with anything, and a million other things. But I know my abilities surpass my limitations and not just me but all of us on here are armed with something very special. The mind that drives further, harder, deeper, and longer than most. The mind of an ADHDer! My girlfriend tells me all the time “I am amazed by your mind and the abilities you have. I’m just waiting for you to unlock your deepest passion and let it take you far beyond what you ever thought possible.”

I always ask people I come into contact with.. just ask my barber 🤣 “if you were capable of achieving anything you wanted to be, what would it be and what drives that dream?”

So I’m asking you all this same question,

“if you were capable of achieving anything you wanted to be, what would it be and what drives that dream?”

Your abilities surpass the limitations in your life.

You can always find a way around the limitations in your life so let’s get creative and achieve more than we ever thought possible.

As always feel free to comment and I will do my best to reply!

Thank you for sharing - I don't understand why people use limiting words - they can be so impactful. Things my mother told me: "you'll never make cheerleader," "you can't join the Air Force, you'll never pass the physical." I proved her wrong on both counts. The most devastating was my high school guidance counselor telling me I could never be a dentist - it was truly my passion. Those words shut me down. Now I still don't know what I want to be "when I grow up." I have defaulted to struggling in an administrative position. I can't seem to find a new passion. How did you find yours?

That sucks! But always remember you do not EVER need approval from another person.

It took a lot of work mentally to figure out what my deepest passion is. I will make a post with some links to a few work sheets I made myself fill out every 3 weeks. It helps you keep your values in check and uncovers what makes you most happy. The most helpful thing though was taking a moment to truly soak up the moments I caught myself smiling, laughing, and blossoming in. I hate social events but love one on one interaction because I am able to deeply connect with people in minutes. I always remember a moment at my old job when a lady walked in at 4:30am (I worked at a gym 11pm-6am). She was in blue plaid pj’s with a cup of coffee in hand. She literally looked hung over and I scanned her membership card. She said Frigggg this and walked back to her car and went home. She did this for a whole month. And every time I would scan her card and she would go home. Until one day she said (I’m sorry, I have kids and I just can’t find the energy to workout but I made a commitment to make it to the gym.) I looked her in the eyes and said getting in the door is the biggest battle and YOU are winning.

She lit up like a lightbulb and smiled. She said you’re right and walked to the treadmill. Two more months and she finally got in gear and started taking the 5am class!

To think that if I hadn’t said anything to her she probably would have given up and never got to the door the next day.

I smile every time I think of this and it fuels me to always be encouraging, loving, and friendly to people. It may seem insignificant to many people but to me it was an eye opener and I took note that I want to help people reach goals and make healthy decisions in life. So that is one thing that my passion must achieve otherwise it’s not a true passion.

I’d love to hear what moments are most memorable from your past that make you smile, excited, feel good, or give you energy.
