I know that my adhd comes with lots of bullshit but when I psych myself up and try to change my thought process, my loved ones feel that I create all the problems, but I have adhd not total loss of brain function and know it’s not all me. Does anyone deal with this issue and how do you solve the problem? They expect me to change while they continue with all their issues that create problems and throw all the blame on me. I feel being alone is going to be my solution.
Why keep trying?: I know that my adhd... - CHADD's Adult ADH...
Why keep trying?
I think that's very common unfortunately, at least you know why it's happening. Do you take medication for your ADHD? A lot of people are negative about it but if you find the right one it tackles the root cause of the problem. There's only so much you can achieve even with the best of intentions if your brain doesn't do what it's supposed to do and anyone who tries to tell you any different doesn't know what they're talking about!
Fuck em. Are these loved ones parents or are they children / spouse?
You gotta be you. That's the only way you can thrive and feel your happiest- by bringing joy to your own life first. If it's parents getting on your case, you are an adult- fuck em. I recently read a book where the author would refer to the term "Brules", or Bullshit Rules. You know, the rules our parents handed down to us, that were likely handed to down them, etc....
We spend the first stage of our young lives being spoonfed bullshit rules and then we spend our entire adulthood learning how to get rid of them. Don't let the rules of others stand in the way of your joy- that's step #1 in my book. It's an instant change from negative to positive outlook when you are doing you rather than doing what everybody else wants.
Many times, I think our sense of being is tied so strongly to these bullshit rules that we overlook any chance of living the extraordinary life that we could live if we would just allow ourselves to be who we want to be. Brave the wilderness and be yourself. I guarantee you people will take notice and you will perceive the world differently- more positively.
Why is ADHD looked at as a disorder? It took me 20 years of proving former teachers, coworkers, & judgemental Brule-based family members wrong by finding myself and succeeding like hell at being me.
I would start altering your reality, and your mindset. Positivity is contagious and joy is a choice Wake up in the morning, remind yourself why you are so special to this world, and find yourself a purpose to keep your active mind busy.
Try and find friends/people who love you and think you’re great just the way you are. Focus on your strengths and one day you’ll blow the world away with you’re talents. The stuff that you stuggle with or feel like they give you hard time about are probably things that your not great at and most importantly but you can learn how to do it your way. Figure out what works for you. Learn how your brain works someone told me. She also helped me learn. Having support when you been kicked down most of your life helped me grow and Begin loving myself again. Also it really really helped me having an accountability partner to help do the things I avoid have trouble starting etc. that has been a tuff one to find
