I am on Concerta 40 MG per day. It has helped a lot in my social interactions. I feel more attentive and able to think through the situation before acting, but I still find it very difficult to concertrate while studying or doing mentally intensive work. I am really confused whether I should try to increase the dose or decrease it.

I would increase it. I started out with Concerta, 18mg. I found my equilibrium at 36mg. I actually went up to 72mg, but found 36mg to be the optimum dose. I was diagnosed 10 years ago at age 47.
I agree with person below - don't mess with your dosage without medical supervision. These are STRONG medications. I accidentally forgot to take a dose and started experiencing physical withdrawal - felt like I was crawling out of my skin. Now if I forget, I just take it later and accept getting less sleep or whatever.
I don’t want to over step my bounds, but are you checking with your doctor before you increase it on your own? It can be dangerous to tinker with these medications on your own. Once again, very sorry if I’m over-stepping, but I feel it’s imperative to talk with the doctor before changing anything with medication. Wishing you all the best! I hope things get easier for you.
No, you are stepping over Actually I get regular check up fromy psychiatrist, but he has told me that we have to experiment with the dosage to find the optimal one. I was just taking the suggestion from fellow ADDers.
