Have 11 year old boy with ADHD. I’m an older mom and combined with a stressful job and an undiagnosed ADHD husband I often feel exhausted and bitter, then I feel guilty about it. How do I get help and what help do I get ? Parent training? Relationship therapy? Or just straight is psychologist for me. I’m drowning.

Hi there, I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way — it sounds like you’re carrying a lot right now, and I admire you for reaching out. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed when you’re juggling so much. I think a combination of support might be helpful — things like parent training, therapy, and strategies to manage day-to-day challenges can all make a big difference. One option you might want to consider is occupational therapy (OT). Occupational therapists can provide practical tools to help manage ADHD-related challenges at home, both for your son and for you as a parent. For example, my OT helped me with time management, building routines, and creating strategies to reduce overwhelm — and those kinds of tools can be just as valuable for parents who are navigating ADHD challenges in their family. Platforms like Melo connect people with licensed OTs who specialize in ADHD support, and they focus on creating personalized strategies that fit your family’s unique needs. I believe they’re offering free consultations right now if you’re interested. You’re doing your best in a really tough situation, and that’s something to be proud of. Please know you’re not alone, and there are people out there who want to support you. Sending you strength ❤️
