hello,

My son, 11 years old has been diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder. We’re waiting on testing for ADHD. He has been on Zoloft for 1.5 years. Starting dose was 20mg. We made it up to 100 2 weeks ago and have noticed his anger and outbursts, anxiety has all flooded back. Does this mean this medication doesn’t work for him? Is it too much? Should we peddle backwards? I’m so lost with how to help him. We tried many different ssris before landing on Zoloft. My husband and I both have anxiety disorder and I have adhd. We work with both a therapist and psychiatrist for him. I just want this poor kid to stop having so many bad days and uncontrollable moments and anger. He’s been this way his whole life. He was a very colicky baby, meltdown city toddler and it just grew bigger and bigger. We’ve always sought help from therapists until finally finding a psychiatrist. His Dr always put it off as typical.

Talk to the prescribing doctor (?psychiatrist) and ask if the medication is activating him.
