I have been told that Waldorf schools might not be best for a kid with ADHD because they need structure, and can create lack of structure on their own. Being in a more unstructured environment such as Waldorf might not be helpful when an ADHD child can cause a lack of structure all on their own.
Are they any parents with Waldorf experience, and also with both non-Waldorf public schools who can compare?

Thanks for asking your question. I have worked in a number of educational settings ( traditional, Montessori and Waldorf). I recommend visiting the school and meeting the teachers you are wanting for your child.
Something to consider is that there are stages of learning in the Waldorf educational settings. The first age is learning through senses up to age 7, academic work is done after 7 years old.
Often they make their own books by hand drawings and bindings. There is learning of different subjects like sewing, candle making and art in addition to academic work. Most Waldof schools I have worked at do not include electronics in their learning or home environment.
If this sounds like something you think your child will excel at then you could try it. There is always options to change if it is not working for your child.
Whatever educational environment they are in they could benefit from a 504 plan or IEP ( individual Educational Plan), These plans help identify things that your child might need help with. Like extra time on assignments so that your child can spend more time completing them. This can include tests also. The plan can also include things like audio books, seating arrangements, etc.
Our son definitely need structure to follow to be successfull. But there were some settings, like middle school where he was not as successful in.
