As we come to the end of one school year... another year is right around the corner. I feel like things have gotten better, but teachers and admin. don't really understand ADHD.
So if you know of one resource that really made a difference to you, please share. Please remember these are for busy teachers...
Thanks so much!

I would definitely give them the CHADD. There plenty of information and support resources not only for them to learn about ADHD and how to become better facilitators of the education to make sure their students are successful in school, but an amazing resource for parents. This is great, I don't know how I did not look into the CHADD with my oldest daughter.
The book “Driven to Distraction” possibly. But more importantly teachers have to learn about the executive function disorders that accompany ADHD (slow processing speed, memory, procrastination and a host of other things). I can’t think of a specific book for that. It’s important for them to know it’s not just inattention/hyperactivity.
Probably the most helpful for us was getting a teacher (& pediatrician) who are each also parents of children with ADHD. But obviously I can’t get that lucky every year. (Fingers crossed!)
For something short that they can definitely find time to read, if I’m limited to one thing, then probably this 4 page fact sheet by Barkley on classroom accommodations:
Understood.org has an educators section, an CHADD has great resources. I guess it depends on where the teacher is at - do they lack sympathy (Then I might point them to a How to ADHD video pointed towards teachers, or this iceberg poster additudemag.com/wp-content/..., do they lack understanding (probably the Barkley video I link all the time - or maybe a sub clip, since I don’t expect the teacher to watch a 3 hour video.) Or do they just need help dealing with it in class, then above fact sheet or something similar.
Driven to Distraction by Edward Hallowell, MD has 50 Tips for Teachers in bullet-point format. I’m giving a copy to each teacher going forward. Dr. Hallowell’s Superparenting For ADD is also a “must-read” for parents. My son is just diagnosed, we are new on this journey.
