Hello, just wanted to update on my 6 year old boy.

The last time I wrote on here I had explained we had an appointment with his doc yo change his medicine. I discussed with her in detail what he has been doing(she also got to see for herself) on the new medicine. She had put him back on vyvanse and didn't want to put a new one on him until he sees a new behavioral therapist. She agrees he has more then ADHD (the old therapist doesnt) so she sent me to a new one who we will see this Friday. I have been looking and researching medicines and I'm down to 3 but we will have to discuss and see what they think about them. My son is not understanding why he is getting angry all the time and is starting to cry about it. It just breaks my heart to see him like this. He knows his medicine helps him with school and he understands that he has ADHD but doesn't understand why he has anger so much.

My son is 6 years old too and we first tried vyvanse. He was very moody on it and was angry and crying for small reasons. We stopped vyvanse as it also had inconsistent results at school. We switched to Focalin XR. It has been great. He has a great day at school and we do not see any of the crying or moodiness. He still gets angry but that was there even before we started meds. I felt the vyvanse made him more angry, irritable and moody.

That's wonderful you found something that works right for him. We went to my son's consult today and we are in agree about putting him on focalin and a mood medicine. He was also diagnosed with ODD and it explains his angry outbursts. We see them on the 18th when they have an opened up a spot for us. That's when we will start his new medicines.

My son has the same problem. At night once coming off the medication he is so irritable and angry and after an emotional outbursts he cry’s not understanding why he has all this rage or anger.

Aww poor little man😢 my family is trying to help him since I'm overwhelmed sometimes with him and I also have 2 babies to take care of as well. (2 year old and 4 month old) They are my whole world and both I g will stop me from helping my babies to the fullest.(including him) I wish you the best of luck.
